ClayTAWC was delighted to announce that the centre was recognised as an official community ‘Warm Hub’ throughout the winter months of 2022/2023!The purpose of being a warm hub was to be a community space where people could be assured of finding a safe, warm and friendly environment in which to enjoy hot drinks & biscuits, social activities, information and advice in the company of other people.
With thanks to Volunteer Cornwall and the NHS Integrated Care Board, ClayTAWC has been able to open a NEW FREE Community Support and Information Room within the building. Within the room there is a vast bank of FREE leaflets relating to the cost of living, energy saving, Devon and Cornwall Police, benefits, debt advice, water saving – as well as some FREE booklets from Age UK and Dementia UK regarding Dementia, Alzheimer’s and Mental Health.
If you do not need any booklets, but would still like to come and enjoy the quiet space, you are more than welcome to just pop in – FREE tea and coffee is available in the room!
Within the room, additionally available is the ‘Food drop, swap and take cupboard’ – you can drop in with no questions asked, no forms to fill out, no eligibility criteria and no proof of need to use the cupboard. You can simply take what you need, swop a can of soup for another or leave a donation! This cupboard is FREE for everyone to use!
